Lithuania is a great place to explore

Lithuania, one of the three Baltic states, is a green and flatland country located on the coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Europe. It is a country that has preserved many natural landscapes, forests, lakes, rivers and has a unique coastline - not just beautiful sandy beaches, but also the Curonian Spit - a sandbank that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea.

For the first time Lithuania's name was mentioned in 1009, and it became a state in 1230 when Mindaugas was crowned King of Lithuania. The territory of Lithuania has undergone numerous changes and was frequently occupied by other states like Russia and Poland. In 1990, after over 50 years of Soviet occupation, Lithuania regained her Independence.

Lithuania has been a member of the European Union since 2004, with a population of around 2.8 million people.
